Job Description
- Track student progress through regular assessment and make instructional adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate closely with related service providers (e.g. SLPs OTs PTs) to ensure comprehensive support.
- Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with state and federal standards.
- Maintain a structured and welcoming classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement and positive behavior.
- Design developmentally appropriate differentiated lessons that address a wide range of learning needs and styles.
- Communicate regularly with families to share updates strategies and insights for continued learning outside the classroom.
- Use evidence-based interventions to target growth in communication motor cognitive adaptive and social-emotional skills.
Requirements
- A bachelor s degree (required); master s degree preferred.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and collaborative practice.
- Previous experience working with students in a special education setting.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (required no substitutions at this time).
