Process Technicians are responsible for the proper set up and operation of injection molding machines for the production of precision molded plastic parts. Monitors the molding process to ensure product quality. Executes daily production tasks in accordance with production schedule.
General Responsibilities:
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs continuous process control by monitoring and making adjustments to maintain standard cycle times product quality equipment performance and identifies potential maintenance needs/issues
Ensure all quality and production documentation is prepared prior to releasing to production
Ensure that press tonnage setting & mold damage protection is set.
Ensure first piece quality prior to releasing machine to production
Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal
Start and process molding machines
Program and operate injection molding machines
Pull and set injection molds
Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials molds and tooling
Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives
Qualifications:
Strong foundation in intermediate mathematics
Strong familiarity with quality measurements
Familiarity with mold tooling and components
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively
Previous molding set-up experience
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
Understanding of molding processing including the nature of plastics
Demonstrated problem solving and root/cause analysis skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Systematic Molding I RJG Paulson or other accreditation
Three years minimum experience in a plastic manufacturing facility as a process technician/set up technician
Experience/Schooling or Degree Required:
Experience: 5 years of injection molding experience as a Process Technician and is able to demonstrate evidence of knowledge.
High School diploma or equivalent.
