We are looking for a FIX Onboarding and Connectivity Engineer to help us grow our client-facing trading business by working on the technical processes that enable new external clients to trade with Jane role will involve a mix of working with our trading teams to help them grow the business and with our technology teams to help us build the best onboarding systems. Jane Street is a place where people come to learn new things (and to eventually teach others what they know) so while some experience with FIX and other order flow/electronic trading protocols and onboarding is required were excited to teach you the specifics of our trading and technology.
The majority of your time on the Client-Facing Tech Team will focus on onboarding and connectivity projects. This will involve prioritising requests from the trading desks; liaising and working with our developers engineers and external parties; and seeing the onboarding process all the way through to production. We work in a technical environment so you will need to be comfortable navigating the Unix command line. A large chunk of your time will be spent on communicating and coordinating with the technical counterparts on our clients side. Often you will find yourself bridging the gap between our clients our trading teams and our technology teams. Strong communication and project management skills are essential. As you do this work we will expect you to keep a thoughtful and empathetic perspective on the way the team functions and collaborates as a whole and to come up with ideas for how we can develop improve and promote our best practices. Well also look to you for opinions on how we approach and deliver project work and how we should interface with other internal teams.
