JOB PURPOSE: The Medical Assistant (MA) at the Eagle Lake Childrens Center is responsible for completing administrative and clinical tasks under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for ensuring all records for children are maintained according to ORR policies.
ESSENTIONAL JOB DUTIES:
Schedule and comply with required medical dental and specialized appointments for children in care and ensure timelines are met.
Obtain compile and maintain MAR medical documentation on each admission health related information and ensure Vison Link and ORR UAC Portal is updated and maintained.
Respond assets and comply with childrens medical complaints urgent and emergency medical needs.
Maintain and review for accurate and complete list of medical supplies prescribe medications and over-the-counter.
Dispense medication according to the supervision or self-administration of medication schedule policies and procedures as they apply to dispensing medication.
Collect maintain and submit daily weekly monthly quarterly and annual reports to supervisor.
Provide a fail-safe plan with medication count label accuracy including over-the-counter counts.
Schedule and provide transportation to children on medical and dental appointments with the assistance from floor staff as needed.
Maintain Health Information Privacy HIPAA.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficiency in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills) required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools.
Advance typing and computer skills required.
Successfully pass a TB test annually.
Successfully pass a drug screen.
Be physically mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned task.
Pass a criminal history screen including state federal and local child protection agency registries.
Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
Affidavit for Applicants for Employment with a Licensed Operation or Registered Childrens Home.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of employment experience in a child welfare setting working with children and/or adolescents.
Certified Medical Assistant.
LICENSES: Clear driving record.
WORK LOCATION:
Eagle Lake Childrens Center in-person.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel in case of an emergency evacuation and as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs.
