We have a unique opportunity for a Special Education Ed Tech III in our Katahdin Program an alternative education program for students with and without IEPs. The Katahdin team is a cohesive group focused on students through community and position is 35 hours per week for the school year. It is eligible for benefits which include paid medical and dental insurance for the individual in this position will be providing support to students in a variety of settings as Ed Techs are assigned based on student needs. Students require support given emotional and behavioral challenges; learning disabilities; cognitive disabilities both in the regular and special education settings.* Candidates for this position must have the ability to create and maintain positive relations with students school personnel parents and citizens and to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain a high quality of responsibilities include but are not limited to:1. Carry out district and school policies rules schedules regulations and goals consistent with school philosophy2. Assist the teaching staff with the implementation of lessons and assessments3. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by teacher4. Guide independent study5. Assist in carrying out IEP recommendations6. Alert and advise the teacher to any problem or special information7. Score and record achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for students8. Identify and utilize community instructional resources9. Assist the teacher in organizing and setting up cumulative folders and the upkeep of student records10. Assist with the supervision of students11. Participate in in-service trainings.12. Work with students who present with behavioral and emotional challenges.13. Provide direct instruction to students using district-approved evidence-based curriculum for reading writing and math.14. Perform other duties as assigned.
