The Manufacturers Association is seeking a dynamic and skilled Manufacturing Technical Training Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator to lead and grow our hands-on training program for high school students across multiple counties. This role combines classroom and shop-floor instruction with program coordination and outreach responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing students for careers in manufacturing and skilled trades delivering engaging technical instruction in a shop environment while managing program logistics partnerships and student engagement across a regional footprint.
The Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator organizes and administers The Manufacturers Association Applied Technologies Pre-Apprenticeship training program to support school districts YCAL (York County Alliance for Learning) PCD (Partnership for Career Development) tech schools and regional manufacturing companies across South Central PA.This positions primary responsibility is to provide technical manufacturing training and program coordination. This position also supports community outreach contributes to the development of marketing materials solicits enrollment and all other aspects involved in supporting the Pre-Apprenticeship Program training courses. Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinates and provides hands on instruction for high school students manufacturing pre-apprenticeship programs.
- Updates manufacturing related training curriculum as needed
- Coordinates with Training Department to schedule dates and rooms for program
- Coordinates with local tech schools to articulate classwork
- Attends career fairs and classroom presentations to recruit high school students into program
- Coordinates job shadowing/internships/company tours for pre-apprenticeship Schools to Work Grant.
- Manages careful documentation of programs processes and training partner involvement.
- Investigate new course offerings and develops course curriculum
- Helps to develop and manage budgets forecasts and program strategy.
- Serve on community committees (YCAL PCD other high school committees as needed) participate in educational programs and develop partnerships to support youth career programs that increases participation in apprenticeships and manufacturing.
- Ambassador for all things Manufacturers Association
- Trains technical apprenticeship classes as needed (CNC Blueprint Reading etc.)
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements: - Machinist Tool and Die Maker Mechatronics or related manufacturing apprenticeship or two-year equivalent technical college required.
- Working knowledge of pre-apprenticeship programs and apprenticeship programs and requirements
- Advocate of team concept and customer orientation culture
- Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze facts and implement to obtain objectives
- Proficient in computer skills with all Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work flexible hours as may be needed and travel to training sites as required
- Must be organized with proven ability to multi-task to assist with Association activities and programs.
- Comfortable in communicating with senior leadership of member companies school districts and other community partners.
- Comfortable public speaking
