Job Description

The Custodial Worker responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of our facilities. This position ensures that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness while creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Hiring Range is $33280 to $34564

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidates qualifications experience and internal equity considerations.

Essential Functions:

Core Values: Demonstrate TSTCs core values of Excellence Accountability Service and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders customers students and community members.
Cleaning Procedures: Understanding of various cleaning methods materials and equipment used for maintaining cleanliness in different environments.
Sanitation: Knowledge of proper sanitation practices to maintain a hygienic environment.
Waste Disposal: Familiarity with proper waste disposal methods including recycling and handling hazardous waste.
Building Access: Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
Equipment Management: Check out tools equipment and supplies as needed.
Vehicle Operation: Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
Physical Exertion: Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs) often in awkward positions.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety requirements use protective equipment and manage exposure to moderate hazards such as dust grease noise and temperature extremes.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months previous custodial experience.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Valid Texas Drivers License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Working Conditions:

Exertion: Significant physical effort and strength required daily often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.
Exposure: Regular exposure to dust grease noise inclement weather and temperature extremes.
Risk:Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
