DescriptionThe purpose of the Materials Management Department is it provide gospel teachings resources and services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way supporting the mission of the Church. The Engineering clerk role provides technical support to all aspects of manufacturing to ensure that work flow work processes equipment configuration and speed and people movement are optimized for maximum efficiency while also ensuring environmental and ergonomic safety for all associates. This role is time-bound for two years with the possibility to extend based on business needs.
Responsibilities- 60% Establish enter and maintain Standard Allowed Minutes (SAMs) by completing time method and motion studies for global sewing and cutting piece-rate processes.
- 10% Provides AX PRS BCIS system support to both domestic and non-U.S. production facilities.
- 10% Ensures standard processes are being followed while conducting time studies/motion studies
- 5% Works with Instructional Design Process Supervisor to develop effective work methods that enhance productivity and ergonomics
- 5% Provide engineering information for Bill of Materials (BOM). Provide information cost analysis for product pricing
- 10% Prepares cost justifications for capital expenditures. Designs layout and selects equipment to maximize work flow. Researches and recommends new equipment and technology May work independently but generally will perform under supervision Climbing ladders Some lifting Standing at times
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual in either Spanish or Portuguese required.
- Enrollment in an Associates degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent highly preferred.
- Ability to set priorities create change and solve problems utilizing process improvement tools
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Enterprise Resource Planning systems or related experience preferred
- Current temple recommend required
- Excellent oral written interpersonal and presentation skills
- Prefer management experience
- Prefer knowledge of garment sewing industry
- Prefer Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing Certification or equivalent
