BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) (M).
Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Takes a lead role within the department. Ensures QA functions are performed at an optimal level.
Reports to: Director Diagnostic Services and Imaging Supervisor
Reviews patient history and physicians orders. Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) biopsies and special procedures. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.
Performs quality analysis on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and MQSA standards. Troubleshoots if data falls out of acceptable range. Takes appropriate action to resolve issue.
Enters transmits and reports scan results.
Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
Acts as a resource related to Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.

Assists supervisor with scheduling and staff development
