We are in search of an experienced project managerparticularly in a legal setting. An initiative of the City of Detroit Project Clean Slate helps residents seek expungement of their criminal records to gain access to employment housing and educational opportunities.
The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist class includes all positions whose duties are toidentifyand address process and project improvement opportunities within the City of Detroit. The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist mustpossessa detailed understanding of project management project development project implementation and project resolution. They are expected to have a broad understanding of change management and change implementation.
Occupational Information
The Project Manager & Analytics Specialistis responsible forsupporting theExecutive Director. Candidates mustpossessknowledge of project development andhave the ability tomanage a project from start to finish. Theyassistwiththedevelopment and implementation ofdepartmentalgoals and initiatives. The Project Manager &Analytics Specialist possesses expertisein data analysis andhas the ability towork with advanced levels of data analytics.
Mustdrivechange and process improvements within theteam and client base.The position is focused heavily on managing a wide range of projects involving data collectionprocess improvement anddissemination relating tostrategy planning and organizational effectiveness efforts. Thisposition reports to theExecutive Director.
The major functions performed by theProjectManager &Analytics Specialist include the developmentand tracking ofdata andsubsequentanalysis and application of the results. They workwiththe internal team clientsand external entitiestoidentifyareasrequiring potential reorganizationor improvementand develop and implementinitiatives based on this research. The Project Manager& Analytics Specialist must display ahighly developed skill setin the identification of data and the resulting application of projectanalysis and changeinitiatives.
This role is responsible for supportingProjectClean Slates Executive Director. Duties include:
General support of Executive Director
Manage Smartsheet
Maintain sheets and monitor teamaccess
Create/maintain reports and monitor teamaccess
Track metrics andproduce weekly and monthlyreports
Grants
Draft grant applications
Draft grant reports
Track grant deadlinesand spending
Assist withpublic facinginitiatives
CoordinatePCS community events
Developsmart engagement (community/funder)strategy
Coordinatemedia requests
Coordinate volunteers
Draft monthly newsletter
Examples of Duties
Analyzes data from a varietyofdatabase sources and formats for research systems andreport design.
Assists stakeholders in understanding generated reports outputs and operational interfaces and counsels them on their use and in finding waystobe used to improve their functionality.
Assists with the implementation of divisional goalsinitiativesandplans.
Develops and implements initiatives to improve workprocesses.
Drives fact-based decision making at all levels within the organization.
Drivesprocess improvement initiatives including automation on theprocesses/tools used to increase the capability and efficiency of reporting efforts.
Managesprojectdevelopment and execution from inception to closure.
Presents results of analyses concisely and effectively to ensure adoption.
Produces summarization reports outputs and operational interfaces thatpresentresearch findings toExecutive Director andstakeholders.
Provides recommendations for improvingprocesses operational efficiencies and system experiences through in-depth analysis.
Provides supporting information to substantiate research findings.
Tracks and reportsprojectmilestones and status reports toCity departments andprogram funders.
Works in conjunction with theExecutive Directorto manage change control and ensure consistency and alignment of change control management across thedepartment.
Education
Bachelors degree with major in human resources data analytics project management business management organizational development or labor relations.
Experience
Project Manager & Analytics Specialist III Advanced levels of responsibility and three to four (3-4) years of human resources experience in any combination of the following components: compensation recruitment/staffing benefits labor relations employee relations training and development and organizational development.
