Working alongside a team of Event Management Officers you will:
- Provide events coordination across Fife Council and with key partners
- Attend and support Event Advisory GroupMeetings
- Provide advice guidance and support to event organisers (for e.g. concerning risk assessment health and safety and event safety)
- Assess event applications for compliance with health and safety regulations
- Process event licence applications
- Prepare and maintain publicly available information advising on event management in line with recognised national standards
- Analyse and implement solutions to a range of event management problems
- Monitor and seek continuous improvement in the policy processes for events management
- contribute towards and represent the council on relevant national public and private sector bodies which develop and share policies standards and best practice and ensure alignment with Government priorities e.g. Scottish Government

While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
The successful candidate will in the role of Events Management Officer:
- Be educated to SCQF level 8 (which includes an HND) or equivalent
- Have risk management and event management experience
- Have experience of relevant health and safety and risk assessment (e.g. Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans)
- Be experienced in providing a high level of customer service
- Be able to work with and co-ordinate a wide variety of people to achieve desired outcomes in a workshop environment
- Have experience in handling and managing conflict to a successful outcome
- Be skilled in communication (verbally and written) with an ability to collaborate advise listen influence and build effective working relationships
- Have experience in initiating and promoting continuous improvement
- Be experienced and skilled in using relevant IT systems
- Have the ability to travel within Fife as required
