Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for coordination of patient care during consult IV sedations and all other oral surgery practice procedures in a fast-paced practice
- Provides chairside support during clinical sessions assist Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) with treating and monitoring patients during OMFS procedures including but not exclusively IV sedation cases including pre-assessment starting IV infusion intra-operative monitoring post procedure monitoring and discharge of the patient to home
- Provides education instruction for patients and families
- Will maintain and record patient information prepare and maintain the clinical environment monitors and reassure patients undergoing dental/OMFS treatment and provide advice to patients and refer clinical questions to Oral Surgeon
- Complete follow-up phone calls to patients
- Must complete moderate sedation competency
- Will have accountability for Performance Improvement Activity and Nurse activity
- Will work with Dental Assistant Team and Oral Surgeon
Qualifications
- Requires Diploma Associate or Bachelors Degree
- Active RN license and 2-3 years patient care experience in a medical/dental facility
- Must have an excellent IV and assessment skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- ACLS certified
- Must be a team player
