Young & Thriving Team Manager - Ref: CH03425

Location: Civic Centre Walsall and borough wide

Grade: G11 Banding 47754- 52805 (Pay award pending)

Service Area: Childrens Services Family Help

Reports to: Group Manager

Special Conditions: Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends are part of this rewarding role. Enhanced DBS disclosure is required. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel throughout the borough are essential.

About the Role:

As a key leader within the Families First for Children programme youll work at the heart of the Young & Thriving Huban inspiring centre committed to health wellbeing and the flourishing of babies children and families. Your work will actively shape a safe supportive environment where children can thrive and parents and carers are empowered from the earliest stages of family life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspiring Leadership: Lead and motivate a dynamic team fostering a positive culture of continuous learning and collaborative working with colleagues and external partners.
  • Strategic Impact: Drive the vision and service delivery of the Young & Thriving Hub overseeing the work of talented Family Practitioners Key Workers Parenting Offer specialists and dedicated Volunteers.
  • Innovative Partnerships: Forge strong effective partnerships with local organisations and Family Help Co-Ordinators ensuring a joined-up approach that meets the unique needs of every family.
  • Champion for Change: Implement cutting-edge evidence-based interventions working alongside academics senior leaders practitioners and families to deliver real improvements in family wellbeing.
  • Safeguarding Excellence: Be a guardian of childrens safety wellbeing and happinessworking to prevent family breakdown and improve daily experiences for our youngest residents.

About You:

Were seeking an enthusiastic committed individual who brings:

  • Expertise & Insight: A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) and a deep understanding of childrens services early intervention and the power of community engagement.
  • Proven Leadership: Experience in leading high-performing teams and shaping local services to meet the evolving needs of families and communities.
  • Superb Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to inspire influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Strategic Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of Family Group Conferences current legislation and policy and the critical impact of early childhood experiences on lifelong outcomes.
