Summary:
TheVCUarts Department of Photography Film is establishing a pool of applicantson an ongoing basis for adjunct teaching positions. The Department ofPhotography Film will consult the adjunct applicant pool and contactqualified applicants for interviews on an as- needed basis.
Adjunctprofessorsfor the VCUarts Department of Photography Film provide courseinstruction in any of the following areas: analog and digital photographylighting digital video or composition and design principles. Our courses canrequire in-person teaching or online instruction. Adjunct faculty memberswill be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and anytextbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students.
If anadjunct opportunity arises only those selected for an interview will becontacted.
MinimumQualifications
- Terminal degree in a related field ortraining and professional experience that equates to a terminal degree.
- Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation andcommunication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fosteringan environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population offaculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
