Job Description
Location: Cedar Park TX 78613
Shift: 8-hr Days 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
- Perform high-quality multimodality diagnostic imaging exams (e.g. CT X-ray) according to established protocols and promptly.
- Maintain imaging quality by adhering to technical standards and radiation safety.
- Monitor radiation dose levels and take corrective actions if dose thresholds are exceeded.
- Use iSTAT point-of-care testing to assess creatinine levels when needed.
- Apply AIDET communication techniques with patients to provide clear and empathetic explanations of procedures.
- Confirm patient identity and exam requisition accuracy.
- Evaluate patient tolerance and prepare the area and patient for the procedure.
- Position patients appropriately using immobilization tools and correct equipment settings.
- Uphold infection control radiation safety and sterile technique standards.
- Clean and maintain imaging equipment and workspace.
- Collaborate with clinical engineers/physicists to ensure optimal equipment function and report malfunctions.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and follow screening protocols for departmental entry.
- Accurately document imaging procedures patient history and other necessary records in the imaging system.
- Proficiency in performing timely high-quality multimodality procedures independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ease patient anxiety and ensure service satisfaction.
- Ability to remain calm and resourceful during emergencies or high-stress situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and training including mentoring new team members.
- Flexibility to take on-call shifts as needed.
Education:
- Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Experience:
- Less then 1 year of experience required.
Certifications/Licensure (Required or As Applicable by Role):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 30 days of hire.
- Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Texas state license (unless MRI or Ultrasound role).
- ARRT or Equivalent Certifications: Must be certified in two imaging modalities and work at least 50% in the second modality. Accepted certifications include:
- ARRT-R (Radiography)
- ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
- ARRT-MR (MRI)
- ARRT-M (Mammography)
- ARRT-N (Nuclear Medicine)
- ARRT-S (Sonography)
- ARRT-VI (Interventional Radiology)
- ARRT-CV / CI (Cardiovascular/Interventional)
- RDMS-OB AB BR FE PS
- CNMT
- ARMRIT
- RVT
