Job Description
Were the Screen Time team and we exist to facilitate digital wellbeing whether youre a parent caring for your child a teen looking to establish healthy habits or an adult trying to be more intentional about your boundaries. Were looking for a Senior Engineer to help lead our team as it builds and ships the next generation of digital wellbeing features at Apple weve created the most compelling personal computing devices in human history. We want these devices to promote the overall wellbeing of our customers especially children by facilitating healthy experiences on their devices. Our challenge is to deliver an experience that is simple to use and understand even as our systems features get more a Senior Engineer on the Screen Time team your responsibilities will include:- Setting and upholding high standards for code quality unit testing and engineering processes- Taking on the most complex technical challenges for the team and leading in output- Purposefully and intentionally investing in the growth of junior engineersThe implications of succeeding in this role are huge together we have the agency to shape healthy habits for billions of people now and into the future.
- Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience
- Track record of success you have 5 years of SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit/Objective-C software engineering experience with impact to show for it
- Technical excellence you design clear maintainable abstractions with clear failure modes and write robust performant unit-tested code that delivers a great user experience
- Critical thinking with influence you systematically evaluate the tradeoffs associated with each potential solution make an informed decision and communicate well to influence others
- Customer focus you make high-quality user-centric product decisions
- Mentorship you make everyone around you better and purposefully invest in the growth of your peers especially junior engineers
- Drive for customer impact you are deeply motivated to build the best essential user experiences for billions of users
At Apple base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181100 and $272100 and your base pay will depend on your skills qualifications experience and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apples discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apples Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
