Job Description

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a 2nd shift Fluorescent Penetrate Inspector (FPI) to perform Liquid Penetrant Testing using specific techniques on aerospace products. Uses knowledge of products manufacturing processes equipment set-up and NDT methods to process parts for inspection following specific operating procedures. Interprets and evaluates test results.

Salary: $20.50 - $25.50/hr DOE

Responsibilities

  • Review routers procedures specifications drawings and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operation Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions to evaluate for welding machining cold forming and/or casting discontinuities exceeding requirements specified.
  • Set-up operate calibrate and perform Process Control Checks on NDT (Liquid Penetrant Test) equipment by following established instructions and record results
  • Interpret evaluate and report evaluation results as required
  • May perform other NDT tasks as qualified for and as required (visual MPI etc.)
  • Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures specifications etc.)
  • Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Level I NDT Inspectors trainees and fellow Level II NDT Inspectors

Skills / Qualifications

  • Pass written and practical examinations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions customer testing specifications and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate ratios and proportions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions data and details furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form

NOTE: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities technical data technology software and services. U.S. citizenship U.S. legal permanent resident status protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the employer obtaining the necessary export authorization including if required an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerces Bureau of Industry and Security the U.S. Department of States Directorate of Defense Trade Controls or other applicable government agency.
