You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe have a 12-month contract opportunity available for aPayroll Officer. This role is based at our modern Melbourne Head Office featuring a balcony BBQ area collaborative and quiet spaces and an abundance of natural light.
About the role
Working as part of a team you will play a key role providing high-level support to the business and ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Processing high volume payroll ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
Maintaining and updating accurate payroll data including data collection and entry.
Processing calculations including back-payments redundancy calculations terminations and leave entitlements.
Providing support and guidance to employees on payroll-related matters.
Collaborating and communicating with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll related queries
Being proactive in investigating and assisting the team to fix issues.
Facilitating payroll adjustments for salary increments and contributing to month-end and year-end procedures.
Supporting the Payroll Helpdesk as required and ensure that tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
Interpreting relevant Awards and ensure compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in delivering high-volume payroll services within complex environments. You will be a strong communicator who thrives working in a faced-paced environment.
You will also have:
Ideally 5 years experience in high volume payroll environment.
Experience with Chris21 is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of technical payroll practices and Australian payroll legislation and complex payroll systems.
Knowledge of taxation laws and regulations including PAYG ETP Payroll Tax and Superannuation.
Experience interpreting Awards/EBAs would be highly beneficial.
Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or a Diploma in Payroll Services or a Degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
