Media Relations Strategist
HIRING RANGE DOQ: $2859.20 - $3157.60 bi-weekly

JOB SUMMARY
Love to tell stories that make an impact. Help shape our community as a Media Relations this role no two days will be the same. Youll work across City departments to provide accurate timely and relevant information to the Sioux Falls community through earned media. Alongside our team youll build and manage relationships with news outlets coordinate news releases and press conferences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in public relations communications journalism or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years experience in public or media relations; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid drivers license.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required.

Competitive salary with other public and industry positions including step advancements.
The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year.
New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
Sick leave accrues over 96 hours per year.
