The role involves defining test scripts and procedures for characterizing peak & average system and component power and checking for regressions between hardware engineering build revisions. You will be working closely with EE design and subsystem teams to align on key metrics and quantify the impact of our design decisions. You will be involved in optimizing power consumption and battery life all while learning about all of the different hardware features that make up the Watch (sensors RF analog digital etc.). Your results will directly impact the EE design of our products! Analyzing collected data and presenting it to wide forums will be a key aspect of the role along with keeping all teams informed on the status and outcomes of testing in a timely manner.

2-5 years prior experience shipping hardware on a system or module team with specific focus on system power consumption validation
Strong expertise in Python-based SW/script development for test automation frameworks
Strong familiarity with test and measurement procedures with lab bench equipment for power analysis (e.g. DMMs power analyzers current probes)
Excellent documentation and communication skills ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to innovate are required
MS or Ph.D in EE or CE
