The Director of Curriculum and Assessment will work with theAssistant Superintendent to provide positive collaborative leadership forimprovement of student learning in the areas of curriculum and assessmentthrough regular curriculum material adoptions coupled with professionaldevelopment focused on increasing the instructional and assessment capacity ofstaff. The Director will do so through:

Primary Performance Duties and Responsibilities InstructionalLeadership:
The primary responsibility of theDirector is the daily improvement of classroom instruction that results in highlevels of student academic performance. The Director is responsible for allaspects of the district instructional program related to curriculum materialsinstructional capacity and assessment to achieve high standards for studentacademic performance and to do so with a high level of integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid WashingtonState Administrator certificate
- Valid WashingtonState Teaching certificate
- Experience as aprincipal or assistant principal preferred
- Washington Statedrivers license or evidence of mobility
- Experience and/ortraining with cultural ethnic and language diversity preferred
Desired Skills:
- Demonstratedinstructional leadership roles that resulted in improved student learning
- Demonstratedexcellence as a teacher of adults professional developer instructional coachor curriculum director
- Demonstrated skillsin planning and organizing professional development with strategies used in thecontext of adult learning
- Ability to use and present studentassessment data with building instructional staff to improve practicestrategies and results

- Produce summaryreports of assessment data for presentation to staff Board and otheraudiences as requested or when appropriate
- Represent thedistrict at relevant state and regional curriculum and assessment and/oraccountability-related meetings and professional organizations
- Manage resources to meet legal requirements and equitable accessto quality curriculum and instruction
- Professionally interact with students staff and public
- Comply with all district policies and procedures
- Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct
- Performother related duties and assume other related responsibilities as may beassigned
