OurProduct Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)is one of the most innovative divisions within PSLD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is ourcustomers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly everyelement of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities technology and operational excellence.
The Ground Transportation Operations Center (GTOC) Americas is a high-performing team of transportation professionals dedicated to supporting the integrated inbound value chain across North American facilities. Managing over 600000 loads annually GTOC plays a critical role in designing and executing innovative inbound transportation solutions. Team members collaborate closely with suppliers procurement supply chain management operations and both internal and external customers. The team fosters a culture of continuous improvement and lean process transformation. We are currently seeking aTransportation Managerto lead theCarrier Management and Network Solutionsteam within GTOC-A.
As a Transportation Manager you will manage a team of transportation professionals that oversee and strive to maximize the efficiency of transportation networks.
Additional Information:
What You Will Do:
Lead a team of transportation analysts who are responsible for different carrier groups (services) within the North America ground transportation network
Support monthly and annual transportation sourcing events by partnering with Procurement partners supply chain and operations teams. Also consolidating and controlling the quality of master data and volume
Relationship management / regular meetings / performance improvement initiatives with all NA Ground providers
Lead cross-functional transportation projects driving collaboration and continuous improvement across internal teams and external partners
Responsible for key lane proactive management and solutioning carrier capacity monitoring and identifying need for supplemental bids carrier RCCA (root cause corrective action) management
Manage carrier and network Key Performance Indicators
Responsible for significant OPACC reduction goal in collaboration with supply chain teams
Lead and/or support customer governance meetings to report on GTOC performance (OPACC and velocity)
Based on knowledge of Transportation operations processes and systems customer needs and insights based on analytics this position is responsible for supporting his/her team in developing implementing and monitoring agile network solutions
Team development on supply chain and transportation skillset and knowledge
Collaboration with cross-functional team to drive improvements in planned cost accuracy in our TMS
What You Will Have (Basic Requirements):
Education Requirement: Degree or equivalent experience desired (5 years of experience in Transportation and/or Logistics/Supply Chain/Packaging)
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and
techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.
Transportation - PHA: Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers distribution centers manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.

Summary Pay Range:
$126000.00 - $189000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
