Job Description

Overview

Nakupuna Federal is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Custom Training Development and Delivery Support Services. ESI is a strategic sourcing program that helps streamline software and IT acquisitions across the DoD to reduce costs improve compliance and enhance procurement efficiency. The IT Procurement Specialist will provide expert advisory support to training development and delivery teams ensuring procurement-related content is accurate compliant and aligned with DoD policies and federal regulations. This position does not perform direct IT procurement functions but serves in an advisory capacity to support training content development and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support training developers by contributing subject matter knowledge of IT procurement processes FAR/DFARS and Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition policies.
  • Review and verify procurement-related training content to ensure accuracy alignment with current DoD ESI requirements and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Contribute procurement-related input to training materials referencing RFIs RFPs sourcing practices and key contract elements.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to incorporate real-world procurement considerations into training scenarios and educational tools.
  • Translate complex procurement concepts into clear instructional content appropriate for various audiences.
  • Assist in the creation of supplemental materials such as procurement lifecycle diagrams FAQs and guidance resources.
  • Monitor changes in procurement regulations and practices that may impact training content and share relevant updates with development teams.
  • Participate in training development discussions to help ensure procurement-related materials reflect best practices and DoD expectations.
  • Incorporate procurement lifecycle logisticssuch as equipment delivery coordination and system upgradesinto training content where relevant to DoD processes.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of IT procurement processes FAR/DFARS and DoD acquisition policy frameworks.
  • Ability to explain procurement regulations and processes in clear practical terms suitable for instructional use.
  • Experience reviewing or shaping training materials for compliance technical accuracy and alignment with procurement standards.
  • Familiarity with procurement documentation such as RFIs RFPs contracts and SLAs and how these inform acquisition training content.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with instructional developers and content teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to contribute to multiple projects in parallel within fast-paced and deadline-driven environments.
  • Ability to provide informed content contributions that support policy-aligned learner-friendly training design.
  • Understanding of how procurement data tracking and lifecycle coordination activities (e.g. delivery installation) inform acquisition planning and training materials.

Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business Supply Chain or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Experience:

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in IT procurement contracting or administrative support
  • Prior experience in IT procurement or a federal contracting environment is preferred but not required

Clearance Requirements: No clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location: The position is primarily based at Nakupuna facilities in Arlington VA; however the candidate is expected to support up to four in-person training events annually in San Diego CA or Washington D.C.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the jobwith or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands wrists and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
