Job Description

Your passion for managing food preparation as First Cook you will inspire your team to create truly spectacular fare.
What you will be doing:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
- Prepare and service all baked goods and dessert items for various meal periods (breakfast
lunch dinner coffee breaks) and functions (buffet or plated) according to hotel pastry recipes and standards - Actively contribute ideas opinions and suggestions during daily shift briefings to enhance pastry operations
- Ensure proper rotation and storage of all pastry products in chillers to minimize wastage and spoilage
- Maintain full knowledge of all dessert and baked menu items including ingredients presentation and preparation methods
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all pastry work areas tools and equipment
- Follow kitchen policies procedures and service standards with an emphasis on pastry production
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies when handling food particularly baked goods and
confections
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous experience minimum of 3 years experience in a similar setting in the Culinary field with at least 1 year of experience in a pastry or bakery kitchen is required
- Food Handler Certificate Alberta is required
- Actively working towards Journeymans papers or international equivalent is an asset
- Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
