The College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital at Oklahoma State University is seeking an enthusiastic person with a passion for emergency and critical care. Successful candidate will provide clinical assistance to professional staff and a variety of treatments to patients admitted to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Candidates will have the opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary students as well as work alongside veterinary specialists to provide clients and patients with the highest standard of care.
This is a full-time position with varying shifts and hours. Shift differentials are available for non-traditional shifts. Every full-time employee receives a full benefits package. The VTH is a 145000 square foot full-service veterinary teaching hospital providing 24 hour care for all domestic and selected exotic and wildlife species. The VTH admits more than 15500 clinical cases per year and hospitalizes 5-8 ICU cases per day. Our Critical Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility and is staffed with capable competent technicians. Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography MRI CT ultrasound endoscopy 24-hour access to full clinical pathology lab oxygen cages pulse oximetry capnography I-Stat point-of-care testing telemetry blood pressure and central venous pressure monitoring Pleur-Evac suction units and ventilator therapy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with 20 small animal specialists as well as a supportive group of interns and residents. This position is in the small animal CCU area of the hospital.
Two years related experience; or Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with two years related experience; or Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related area; or DVM degree or equivalent.
Five years experience as a Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA or credentials in a specialty that VTH defines as meriting recognition.
