Job Description
You will apply your mechanical manufacturing background in the following areas:Process Development:Plan propose and lead experiments to produce timely and accurate analyses used to drive design development and supply chain with Suppliers and Engineering teams in developing the manufacturing and test processes including process flows equipment/fixture designs implementation schedules and validation/maintenance DOEs FMEA and other Industry-standard tools to actively identify and address risks and optimize process robust processes for failure analysis and drive continuous Product Introduction:Lead multi-functional activities in the supply chain for overall operational readiness in all NPI phases leading into Mass process development and capability assessment activities reviewing part design documentation to ensure alignment with process project technical and operational issues with respect to material process fixtures equipment etc. during the NPI phase to enable delivery of a mature product and manufacturing process into Mass specific tasks and work with Apple suppliers to support process development and/or data gathering activities. Set clear goals for results and provide timely reviews of performance throughout validation procedures to determine acceptance of tooling into development builds as well as mass Execution:Review supplier equipment and fixture design process flow equipment selection DFM and DOE shortfalls and corrective actions to ensure design with supplier engineering teams to map out process development exercises secure resources and commit to schedules in line with program supplier readiness to support build events and production ramp. Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate prospective suppliers regarding production capability & quality suppliers by providing technical direction to establish and validate (applying statistical tools) process capability to Apple standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality Quality programs and Manufacturing Process Control Plans for early detection of issues to ensure the highest level of Quality and Reliability is consistently delivered.
- 10-15 years experience supporting new product launches in a Mechanical Engineering role/Thermal Engineering role
- 10 years of management
- Willing and able to travel internationally 30%.
- BSME or equivalent experience MSME MBA a
- Good understanding of Mechanical Design Thermodynamics Simulations Modeling and CAD GD&T Failure Analysis DOE SPC and Statistical Analysis.
- Experience with manufacturing processes of Thermals which includes Fans Heat pipes vapor chambers cold plates and Heat fins in portables and desktops.
- Strong in the statistical analysis using tools like JMP
- Automation Engineering management Program management and experience in Contract Manufacturing (CM) is a plus.
- Strong project management skills working in a global matrix organization.
- Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Engineering management or program management experience
- Strong cross functional partnership experience with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working with international OEMs/ CM.
At Apple base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $229800 and $345800 and your base pay will depend on your skills qualifications experience and location.
