Job Description

Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital

St John of God Midland Private Hospital (SJGMPH) commenced operations in November 2015 with the opening of St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospital (SJGMPPH).

The construction of the private facility on the SJGMPPH campus was funded by St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) of which the WA State Government had the option to buy back with a three-year notice period to allow for expansion of the public facility on the campus. The State have now triggered its contractual right to purchase the private facility effective from 1 July 2026. Following on from this decision SJGHC has commenced construction of a stand-alone private hospital.

The Project Manager will work closely with the redevelopment project team SJGMPPH caregivers external consultants and contractors to deliver agreed redevelopment projects during construction operational readiness and transition phases.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the planning management and end to end delivery of project outputs to meet agreed timeframes quality standards and allocated budgets.

The Position

  • Accountable for the successful execution of allocated projects within approved project baselines and in compliance with the agreed project management methodology.

  • Management of project financials and reporting.

  • Planning forecasting resourcing scheduling prioritising and coordinating project activities.

  • Effectively managing project baselines (scope budget benefit schedule) by ensuring that changes are documented approved and registered.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining project management artefacts as directed.

  • Manage project risks and issues including identifying registering and driving mitigation treatment activities escalating and reporting as required.

  • Managing stakeholders to ensure project expectations are understood agreed and met.

  • Ensuring that the documented quality standards of the project are met.

  • Responsible for ensuring project data is maintained preparing project status reports and other management products as directed.

  • Ensuring appropriate project governance is set up and maintained coordinating and reporting to project governance bodies as directed.

  • Perform secretariat duties for governance bodies as required.

  • Engaging with key stakeholders to agree on deliverables and criteria required to ensure hospital design and delivery meets operational requirements.

You will possess Relevant Tertiary qualifications (Project management) and/or substantial experience in a healthcare setting as well as experience in large scale developments/redevelopments or hospital projects. You will demonstrate the ability to produce high quality written material including reports discussion papers briefing notes correspondence and other documents

To succeed you will have proven ability to work autonomously with highly developed time management and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to articulate the business context of projects will be essential for this role.

  • Salary: $124196 to $137946 per annum plus 12% superannuation

  • A fixed term full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight
