Job Description

Marion Cross School is seeking a long term substitute for a 3rd Grade classroom. Position begins around 10/1/25 through approximately 12/19/25. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years elementary teaching experience and must be collaborative and flexible and have strong relationship building skills. Sincere interest in integrating curriculum is a must. The ideal candidate will provide quality data-driven instruction to meet the needs of all learners communicate effectively and work collaboratively.

The Marion Cross School is a Pre-K-6 school in beautiful Norwich Vermont. We are home to the first interstate school district. We value outdoor education critical thinking skills positive school community and appreciate the students and families that we serve. Our school has a dedicated PTO and strong community support.

We seek a teacher who will work collaboratively within our3rd Grade team. The teacher will work to establish effective rapport with students to motivate students to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education in accordance with each students ability and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

This positionhas an hourly range of $37.94 to $75.56 depending on education and experience.

General Purpose:

To provide innovative The classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each pupil in his/her charge and for working with students parents other teachers and staff toward achieving the goals set forth by the district.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree

Necessary Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of child and adolescent development

Knowledge of testing instruments and their application to the academic setting

Knowledge of research based instructional interventions

Ability to collaborate with professionals parents and community

Awareness of applicable state Administrative Rules and Regulations

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicable State Certification (or Statement of Eligibility from applicable agency )

Highly Qualified status or equivalent
