This position is located in the Chief Medical Office/Division of Prison Operations/Medical

  • The incumbent of this position will serve as the general advisor/special assistant to the Medical Director for the Department of Public Safety and Corrections and acts as a liaison to the medical providers state agencies such as LDH LSU and serves to strengthen and support the public/private partnership. This position is located in the Headquarters - Medical office and works closely with the Departments leadership team. The incumbent of this position works with various initiatives within medical services and has special project oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF

LA DPS&C CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)



This position may be filled as:

PROMOTION: This position may be filled as a detail. Should the position become available the employee may be permanently promoted to this position.


Exams and License Requirements

  • No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
  • Any degree certificate special license or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.
    1. Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification.
    2. Failure to provide your qualifying work experience may result in your application not being considered.

  • Career Progression Group: Administrative Program Specialist A B or C
  • Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
  • Salary depends on level of experience.
  • Note regarding the advertised pay range:The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career andnotthe amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
  • The maximum salary for the highest level is $84302.00 annually.
