Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Events and Conferencing Student Worker will support the universitys event operations by assisting with event setups teardowns and inventory management. This role involves overseeing event logistics on campus organizing storage spaces driving a golf cart for event-related tasks and following detailed timelines and task lists. The position requires a collaborative approach working closely with other team members to ensure successful event execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the setup and teardown of events ensuring all equipment and furniture are placed and removed as required.
- Manage inventory for event supplies and furniture ensuring proper storage and tracking.
- Reset furniture and equipment in various event spaces according to event needs and layouts.
- Organize and maintain event storage areas ensuring accessibility and proper care of equipment.
- Operate a golf cart for transporting event materials equipment and staff as needed.
- Follow detailed timelines and task lists to ensure events are executed smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and solve challenges during event preparation and execution.
REQUIRED DATES:
This position spans over the entire academic year. This position also has opportunities to work Welcome Weekend Spring Break and Commencement. Residence hall early and late check-in/out accommodation can be made.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Current student enrolled at Vanguard University in good standing.
- Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.
- Maintain minimum grade point average of 2.0 each term.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Demonstrated commitment as a team player to support and collaborate with faculty staff peers and external constituents as well as the initiative and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will result in effective collaboration.
COMPENSATION:
This position is 5-10 hours per week at a rate of $16.50 per hour.
