Job Description

Provide leadership oversight and support for the local campus. Interprets administers coordinates and directs strategic instructional activities which may include leadership supervision of faculty and instruction-related staff. Assist in the planning development implementation and coordination of various programs and initiatives within the Provosts Office. Directly supervises Academic/Program Team Leads developing leaders who support TSTCs faculty teams. Substantial partnership with Statewide Deans and Directors of Industry Alignment and Innovation. This position helps shape TSTCs learning environment for students and the overall growth and health of instructional programs. This position works under the general direction of the appropriate campus Provost within the statewide college and serves in the absence of the Provost. The Associate Provost may represent TSTC to external stakeholders including community partners and regional industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence Accountability Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders customers students and members of the community.

  • Direct and evaluate the leadership of all instructional and instruction-related personnel per assignment which may include student learning programs instructional support and compliance with internal or external requirements.

  • Make recommendations based on campus and instructional needs to the statewide division.

  • Work closely with Statewide Deans & Directors of Alignment for programs they oversee on their respective campuses.

  • Collaborate intentionally with statewide partners cross-functional departments such as technology leads career services enrollment management and recruiting to establish the teams direction and ensure alignment.

  • Advise the appropriate Provost of relevant matters regarding campus activities.

  • Plan schedule and cancel courses for the campus based on operational strategy and goals and faculty workload

  • Plan and conduct meetings with Operations faculty and staff to exchange information and coordinate campus activities.

  • Familiarity with the annual cycle of programs which is driven by several main forces including recruitment graduation new student orientation and day-to-day operations.

  • Improve leadership and administrative capabilities within instructional programs through mentorship of Program and Academic Team Leads.

  • Promote a positive image and maintain effective relationships for the Office of the
    Provost by representing the Provost at various meetings communicating with TSTC administrators faculty staff and students and leading or serving on selected campus committees and task forces.

  • Assure the application of appropriate procedures by assisting with grievances and other faculty personnel issues through investigating gathering information and reporting findings to the Provost.

  • Areas of responsibility include overseeing performance training verifications monitoring vacation/sick leave licensure in-training exams and processing new/continuing/separating allocation forms.

  • Maintain effective working relations with other operational areas.

  • Other duties as assigned

They must be capable of making data-driven decisions that enhance the colleges performance including student success rates faculty engagement and financial health. This involves setting clear goals measuring outcomes and adjusting approaches based on evidence and analytics.

Communication and Influence: Ability to articulate the colleges vision values and strategies to different stakeholders including faculty staff students and external partners. Should be persuasive and influential capable of inspiring and mobilizing others towards common goals.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Ability to foster an environment that encourages innovation experimentation and continuous improvement. They should champion new teaching methods technologies and business practices that enhance the colleges competitiveness and student learning experiences.

Ethical Leadership and Accountability: Demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity setting the tone for the entire college. They should ensure accountability at all levels promoting fairness transparency and ethical behavior in all college activities and decisions.

Education & Experience

Experience

  • Proven experience leading teams of leaders and developing talent in complex organizational settings.

  • Experience managing people processes and workflows preferably in a higher education or mission-driven organization.

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners to advance organizational or educational objectives.

  • Background in faculty leadership program management or student learning operations is preferred.

Education

  • Evidence of formal education such as a bachelors or masters degree in leadership education business or a related field is valued but not required.

  • Credentials serve as evidence of learning but equivalent demonstrated experience and capability will be considered.
