Job Description
About this position
- As our newly appointed Electrical CAD Drafter (Instrumentation and Controls) we will look to you to use your expertise to produce P&IDs Basic Wiring Drawing Local Control Panel GA and Wiring Drawing PLC Panel GA and Wiring Drawings Loop drawings Hook up drawing Boolean Logic Drawing and all the instruments and controls related drafting activities using the AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse and review as sold proposals customer specifications/requirements in conjunction with the assigned Control Engineer to draft the required drawings for the application.
- Utilize AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical for the documents.
- Assist Controls Engineers to create the Bills Of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure all required drawings/documents are completed within required timescales and meet project and quality requirements.
- Assist with reviewing customer mark-up prints and disposition of comments.
- Attend workshop visits to assist with design changes as required per the project and to assist shop personnel with production of equipment.
- Produce as-built drawings and P&IDs.
- Ensure detail - check own and other Drafter drawings for accuracy.
Requirements:
- Ideally youll hold a degree and/or equivalent combination of experience (drafting/design experience using AutoCAD/ AutoCAD Electrical in an Electrical and/or Controls and Instrumentation engineering environment).
- Youll have experience in producing Controls and Instrumentation drawings complete with full BOMs.
- Experience with control panel wiring & drawings design.
- Experience in P&IDs - desirable.
- Youll possess strong time management skills and be confident in job prioritization.
- Assertive confident and self-motivated.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Word / Excel / Adobe and all Web based systems for design completion.
Additional requirements:
- Full valid UK driving licence required/
- Must live within 1-hour commutable distance to our Rutland Office PE9 4AQ
- Location: On-Site
- Hours: 8:30am - 5pm
