Java Architect (Azure)

Job Overview:

Were seeking an experienced Azure Applications Architect with a strong foundation in Java Spring Boot and cloud-native architecture. This role is ideal for someone whos successfully led end-to-end migrations of monolithic systems to Azure microservices using AKS and who has hands-on expertise with Terraform CI/CD DevSecOps and modern front-end frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design cloud-native architectures domain models resilience patterns and observability
• Pair-program review PRs and write production Spring Boot code (JPA Spring Security Actuator Resilience4j)
• Lead React or Angular front-end alignment with new back-end APIs
• Build and own CI/CD in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions integrating OWASP/SBOM scans and automated tests
• Author Terraform for AKS VNets Application Gateway Key Vault Azure SQL Cosmos DB
• Configure Kubernetes namespaces Helm charts service meshes and OpenTelemetry tracing
• Translate FAIR-based risk and performance data into metrics the business understands
• Coach developers on DDD event-driven design and clean-code practices
• Partner with product security and SRE to create SLAs SLOs runbooks and chaos drills

Qualifications:

• 10 years professional Java (11 21) including 5 years Spring Boot (v2/v3)
• Proven record leading at least one end-to-end migration of a Java monolith to Azure micro-services (AKS or App Service)
• Terraform expert on Azure (AKS VNets NSGs Key Vault App Gateway)
• Strong front-end experience with React or Angular integrated into the same CI/CD flow
• Kubernetes production chops (scaling ingress security service mesh GRPC/REST)
• Deep DevSecOps mindset OWASP SAST DAST SBOM supply-chain hardening
• Solid grasp of DDD CQRS/event sourcing asynchronous messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• Comfortable mentoring teams running architecture reviews and presenting to executives
