About the Opportunity

Reporting to theChief Legal Officer will be acting as key counsel accountable for providing a full range of corporate and legal services to the organization. Youll navigate complex commercial agreements lead crucial negotiations and contribute to our continued growth in the fast-paced SaaS industry. This isnt just a legal role; its an opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation and make a real impact.

What Youll Do:

In this role you will be a key member of the legal team providing support across a wide spectrum of the companys operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor and legal partner to business units across the organization providing practical legal advice on a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters.
  • Drafting reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of agreements including procurement technology sales and other commercial contracts.
  • Providing legal support for corporate transactions including mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and financing activities by assisting with due diligence drafting transaction documents and coordinating with external counsel.
  • Supporting the management of the companys litigation portfolio and assisting with dispute resolution matters in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Advising on general corporate legal matters including corporate governance regulatory compliance and entity management.
  • Leading the continuous improvement of the companys procurement function managing legal operations and contributing to strategic planning for future legal team resources including non-legal roles.
  • Assisting in the management of the companys insurance program and handling related claims.
  • Effectively managing external legal counsel to ensure high-quality cost-effective legal services.
  • Supporting the Deputy General Counsel on commercial contracts and initiatives as required.

What You Bring:

  • You have 3-8 years of legal experience gained at a top-tier law firm or in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience handling complex matters at a large full-service law firm is required.
  • You hold a J.D. or LL.B. and are a member in good standing with a Canadian provincial Law Society.
  • You are a proactive and versatile lawyer comfortable handling a broad range of legal issues and learning new areas of the law.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and provide clear business-oriented advice to stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines reassessing priorities as needed.
  • Experience in corporate and commercial law is required.
  • Experience with technology companies is an asset
  • A dual Canadian/US law degree or being called to the bar in a US jurisdiction is an asset but not required.

Security-Related Responsibilities

  • Ensure access management is performed in compliance with the employees role and responsibilities
  • Responsibility and accountability for executing Leagues policies and procedures within the department/ team
  • Notification of HR Legal Compliance & Security of any incidents breaches or policy violations
  • Compliance with Information Security Policies

CANADA APPLICANTS ONLY: The Canada-specific compensation range below for this full-time position is exclusive of bonus equity and benefits. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for base salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. The salary range is intentional to account for the performance and career progressions a Leaguer will experience in the role throughout their time at League. Where in the band you may land is determined by job-related skills/experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range specific to your skills and experience during the hiring process.

Compensation range for Canada applicants only

$190000 - $230000 CAD
