Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective private undergraduate liberal arts residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus is seeking candidates for the position of Clinical Therapist. This is a part-time hourly position (up to 20 hours per week) without benefits.
About the candidate:
As a clinical therapist you will contribute to our team in the Counseling Services office by providing evidence-based solution-focused clinical services to students as well as opportunities for consultationcampus-wide outreach programming training and collaboration to support the mental health and wellness of our campus. Through this work we also utilize a team approach and support professional development work/life balance and clinical consultation. There are no pre-determined holiday weekend or on-call commitments
unless there is a need requested by the university. Counseling Services also collaborates with several other offices and departments for outreach programming committee membership and other opportunities.
Job Summary:
This position primarily offers direct clinical services to students during the academic year through individual counseling group counseling case management and crisis intervention.
Other responsibilities include campus-wide opportunities through consultation outreach programming and campus events.
Responsibilities and duties:
Provide evidence-based individual group and crisis intervention services to students
Provide advocacy referrals and resources to students depending on needs
Function as part of a team in terms of collaboration support and office management
Assist with planning and implementation of outreach programming
Attend office and division meetings
Utilize clear respectful communication and interpersonal skills while completing other duties
Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the office SES division and the university
Attend campus events as a representative of Counseling Services and/or OWU staff
Maintain compliance with Counseling Services policies and procedures
Maintain active licensure in the State of Ohio along with ethical moral and legal standards in professional conduct documentation and clinical work
Factors contributing success:
Experience working with college students and/or young adults along with presenting concerns involving depression anxiety trauma ADHD Autism eating disorders and/or identity-related concerns
Independent licensure as a LPCC LISW or Psychologist in the State of Ohio is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as competency using technology/computers
Have the ability to form strong appropriate working relationships with students faculty and staff and relate effectively with diverse members of the campus community
Ability to work effectively as a collaborative active team member
