POSITION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Masters degree in education and a valid New York State K-12 teacher certification. It is required that candidates attach a PDF or a screenshot of their certifications.
Additionally candidate must have:- Minimum of five years of approved and appropriate teaching with diverse and multilingual adult students;
- Knowledge of NYSED Adult Education guidelines WIOA Title II EPE and Perkins funding requirements.
- Training and experience with coordinating Distance Education programs and NYS regulations around distance education programs.
- Experience with NRS reporting and NYSED approved assessments
- Proficiency in ASISTS (Adult Student Information System and Technical Support) web-based data management system used by adult literacy programs in New York State.
- Strong leadership communication organizational and problem-solving skills
DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor and Director of Adult and Continuing Education the Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to:- Plan monitor and develop educational programming/services for Adult Education distance education students (GED and ESL) including working with instructors at the Erie County Holding Center to transition students
- Focus will be on meeting NRS outcomes for EPE WIOA and Perkins students
- Assist in student enrollment and recruitment curriculum development Interagency relationships and coordination; compliance with NYS regulations for Adult and Continuing Education; statistical reports required by the Board of Education New York State and other funding sources
- Evaluation of student progress
- Administer the TABE-E and TABE assessments
- Supporting all programs at the 15 sites across the City of Buffalo
- Maintain distance education student files
- Develop a process for distance education student work submissions
- Support Career and Technical Education (CTE) program when needed

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training experience credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate. All Adult Education assignments are temporary and will end no later that June 30th and must be processed each year.
