We are seeking an accomplished Associate Director Employee and Labor Relations to join the Human Resources team in Tucson Arizona. This individual will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Labor Relations strategies that will promote an ongoing positive work environment. Additionally the candidate of choice will administer and provide leadership and counsel on contract negotiation grievance arbitration and federal and state labor legislation. This position also represents the company in dealings with employee representatives and government agencies. The successful candidate will support the Employee and Labor Relations team and report to the Executive Director of Employee & Labor Relations.

Job location will be onsite in Tucson Arizona

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with Local and International Union representatives.
  • Develop successful relationships and collaborate with teams and HR functional partners in support of represented employees and business operations.
  • Act as a grievance spokesperson for the company. Prepare for grievances in the final step of the process prior to arbitration.
  • Assisting with the preparation for and participating in arbitrations as the company advocate.
  • Lead Employee and Labor Relations efforts from day-to-day activities to strategic contractual implementations grievance and negotiations activity (including proposal development and serving as chief spokesperson during contract negotiations). Guides team in the research and compilation of facts and policy interpretation to deliver managements position in each case.
  • Advise all levels of management in the interpretation of the law and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Develop and provide training pertinent to supervisors and managers.
  • Drive improved organizational performance by maximizing organizational capability.
  • Provide leadership and development to the Employee and Labor Relations and HR professionals.
  • Serve as advisor mentor and coach for leaders in support of achieving objectives.
  • Establish programs and processes to facilitate the creation of a positive work environment. Leads and/or supports assessments as required.
  • Drive policies processes and practices to ensure effective execution and compliance.
  • Lead and participate in projects in support of various business.
  • Partner with operations/managers on staffing requirements including hiring promotions transfers and reductions-in-force.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • 7 years of labor relations experience to include: involvement in negotiations and collective bargaining agreements managing grievance and arbitration processes to resolve labor disputes and/or advising management on labor law compliance and best practices.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Industrial/Manufacturing experience.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at all levels in the organization including executives.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment labor and compliance requirements.
  • Strong presentation facilitation and communication skills.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 147000 USD - 295000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
