Job Duties:

Working within the University Marketing and Communications Department and in partnership with the Pruitt Center for Mindfulness and Well-Being the Communications Specialist develops and drafts communication content and assists in the execution of the communications strategy in support of the Pruitt Center for Mindfulness and Well-Beings communication goals. This includes content production for the web social media print and other mediums; graphic design and marketing-related administrative tasks.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns projects and initiatives
  • Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources
  • Provides project management and execution of communications programs initiatives and tactical plans
  • Writes edits and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
  • Plans editorial content according to established goals and objects

Department: University Marketing and Communications

Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications

Part-time: 50% appointment Academic Staff Ongoing 12-month one vacancy

This position is eligible for hybrid work consideration. Currently eligibility requires residency in one of the following states: Wisconsin or Minnesota upon hire.

  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong writing and multimedia content development skills that will promote engagement and resonate with the Pruitt Center for Mindfulness and Well-Beings target audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to compile and analyze results of communications initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Skilled in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles Policy 615.

Required Qualifications:

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

Desirable Qualifications:

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $21.10 $22.12 hourly. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous paid time off competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance tax-advantaged savings accounts and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
