JOB SUMMARY

The National Clinical Liaison provides clinical leadership and direction to the research and knowledge translation activities performed at Praxis Spinal Cord Institute. This position works closely with Clinical Research and Best Practice Implementation Data Services Persons with Lived Experience (PLEX) and Innovation Teams. The National Clinical Liaison provides a combination of clinical expertise in spinal cord injury and experience implementing research evidence into practice.


This position offers the opportunity to expand knowledge of SCI care outside a facility and across a continuum of care nationally and internationally. This role will impact care and inform research more broadly develop understanding of knowledge translation behavior change and implementing practice change. This is a part-time (14-28 hours/week) and 13 month term position with a start date of October 1 2025.The annual salary range is $71500 - $95300 (at full-time) and will be pro-rated for part-time hours.


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide clinical input on national and international research and best practiceprojects this may include activities such as cleaning data interpreting clinical data results and identifying the relevance of research findings to clinical practice;
  • Determine site specific study implementation processes and training recommendations;
  • Lead the development and implementation of project-specific clinical site education preparation of clinical outcome measure training documents and clinical outcome measure data collection training;
  • Provide clinical input and education to companies developing innovation projects this may include providing an overview of spinal cord injury care throughout the continuum feedback and suggestions on how to make innovations relevant to clinicians and individuals with spinal cord injury and connecting partners to clinical colleagues;
  • Present information on Praxis clinical projects to national and international network sites; This could include technical demos national meetings coordinator calls principal investigator communications and site visits;
  • Collaborate with the Regional Clinical Liaison on presenting information on Praxis clinical studies to regional clinicians and healthcare providers as well as developing and disseminating materials to the clinical community;
  • Provide clinical expertise and training for internal Praxis education activities;
  • Provide clinical /subject matter expertise to assist with IT Platform development;
  • Some travel required;
  • Perform other duties as related to the qualifications and requirements of the job.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Requires a clinical degree (e.g. BSc PT BSc OT RN). PT degree preferred for this Maternity Leave position.
Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience;
  • Clinical experience working in the area of spinal cord injury is considered an asset.

Skills/Behaviours

  • Exercises professional clinical judgement and initiative to advise on clinical aspects of Praxis projects
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively to a wide audience including patients clinicians researchers healthcare administration and policy-makers
  • Strong written and verbal communications including the ability to generate reports as required
  • Intermediate ability in MS Office (especially Outlook Word and Excel)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse community of partners
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
