Job Description

JOB TITLE -Adventuretime Team Leader

CLASSIFICATION -Classified

FLSA STATUS - Non-Exempt

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR - Adventuretime Coordinator

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM - Building administrators district leadership

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION -Supervise and participate in all aspects of the Adventuretime preschool and school age program involving activity planning scheduling and assistant team leader and associate staff supervision and teacher/parent communication.

QUALIFICATIONS -

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Ability to relate well with children. Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of school age children.
  2. Knowledge and skill in childcare / child development including what children are capable of at different age levels.
  3. Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
  4. Knowledge of childrens activities that will get the child to use both their skill and imagination.
  5. Ability to plan organize and implement program activities as well as participate in those activities.
  6. Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  7. Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities.
  8. Ability to serve as a positive role model for staff and children.
  9. Knowledge of and skill in managing on-site staff.
  10. Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive action.
  11. Ability to create collaborative working environment.
  12. Ability to effectively communicate with students parents staff teachers and administration.
  13. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  14. Must be able to interact positively with students teachers parents and other stakeholders.
  15. Knowledge of district policies and procedures.

Education

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certification/Licensure

  1. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  2. Current Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse certification.
  3. Current Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
  4. Current Medication Administration certification.

Experience

  1. 1-2 years of childcare / child development experience.

Equipment

  1. Office equipment such as computers two-way radios multi-line phone system cell phone copier and fax machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  1. Maintain accurate records.
    1. Incident reports
    2. Medication/allergy paperwork
    3. Weekly lesson plans
    4. Building schedules
    5. Monthly newsletters
    6. Monthly snack calendars
    7. Current emergency forms
    8. Field Trip receipts
  2. Planning
    1. Organizeplan and prepare activities for the children including ordering and receiving needed materials for activities.
    2. Communicatelesson plans to assistant team leaders and associates and making sure they are implemented on daily basis.
    3. Arrange field trips.
    4. Plan and prepare healthy daily snacks for children.
    5. Develop and implementpositive behavior management plans that align with building expectations.
  3. Staff Development
    1. Provide new staff orientation to assistant team leaders and associates.
    2. Conduct weekly building staff meetings.
    3. Collaborate withother building team leaders to develop lesson plans weekly.
    4. Attendweekly team leader meetings and trainings scheduled by supervisors.
    5. Assist inplanning and facilitating monthly staff trainings.
  4. Communication
    1. Develop positiverelationships and communicate effectively with school staff custodians food service staff teachers principals school secretaries guidance counselors and supervisors.
    2. Greetparents and students when they arrive and leave.
    3. Communicatepositive and negative behaviors with parents on daily basis.
    4. Provideparents with incident reports newsletters program changes or updates upcoming events and office contact information.
    5. Maintainconfidentiality.
  5. Site Safety
    1. Maintainclean sanitary orderly and safe environment.
    2. Utilizespace effectively to meet the needs of children.
    3. Maintainappropriate child/staff ratios at all times.
    4. FollowFood Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snacks.
    5. Communicateindividual student health (i.e. allergies medications asthma etc.) plans to all staff.
  6. Createa structured and organized environment for the children.
  7. Followestablished policies and procedures for the Adventuretime program.
  8. Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS -

  1. Adventuretime Associates
  2. Volunteers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -

  1. Repetitious bending lifting and hand movement.
  2. Ability to work while standing moving and/or walking.
  3. Drug tobacco and alcohol-free while working.
  4. Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
  5. Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.

WORKING CONDITIONS -

  1. Majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
  2. Occasional meetings outside the school day.
  3. Occasional exposure to body fluids fumes noise and hazardous materials and emergency situations.

  4. Performance evaluated annually
