As Assistant Director of Finance you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the hotel ensuring operational excellence and profitability while upholding the EDITION brands uncompromising standards.
This role is both analytical and strategicsupporting the Director of Finance in delivering accurate financial insights driving performance and enabling bold data-driven decisions. You will be a key business partner to department leaders translating numbers into narratives that guide the hotels continued success.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership- Support the development and execution of the hotels financial strategy in alignment with EDITIONs brand vision and business goals.
- Analyze financial data market trends and operational performance to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Assist in the creation and management of the annual operating budget forecasts and long-range planning.
- Provide actionable insights to department heads to optimize revenue and control costs.
Operational Finance & Controls- Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and maintain compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the accuracy of financial reporting including P&L statements balance sheets and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor working capital tax obligations and audit processes to ensure financial health and transparency.
Team Leadership & Collaboration- Lead and inspire the finance team fostering a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Support the Director of Finance in managing relationships with ownership auditors and corporate finance teams.
Stakeholder Engagement- Participate in owner and leadership meetings providing financial updates and strategic recommendations.
- Understand and anticipate the needs of key stakeholders ensuring alignment between financial performance and brand priorities.
- Facilitate regular business reviews and critique sessions to drive informed decision-making.
Compliance & Reporting- Ensure compliance with all local laws brand standards and internal policies.
- Submit timely and accurate financial reports ensuring all documentation is audit-ready.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices.
Candidate Profile Education & Experience- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field (Masters preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in finance or accounting within a hospitality or lifestyle brand environment.
Preferred Attributes- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and inspire across departments.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools; experience with Marriott systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English; Italian language skills are highly desirable.
