Job Description
Position Note:
This position may require travel to other WaukeeCommunitySchool District (Waukee CSD) buildings to provide temporary coverage or support in other Health Offices as needed. Reliable transportation and flexibility are essential.
Position Criteria:
- High school education or equivalent required
- CNA CMA LPN or RN preferred but not required
Performance Criteria:
- Assess needs and provide healthcare to students with acute and chronic health problems. 70%
- Fill and administer daily medications (all oral spray and injectable medications) including checking blood sugars
- Promote teach and demonstrate healthy and safe habits
- Interpret and effectively communicate the health status of students to parents and school personnel
- Document and chart student visits daily while maintaining confidentiality.
- For emergent situations will administer CPR first aid and/or AED until EMS arrives
- Implements procedures and provides for emergency health management for injuries/illnesses
- Conduct an annual audit of student immunizations to stay within State and Federal compliance
- Maintain appropriate and up to date substitute notes
