ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Front End/UI Developer to lead the development enhancement and support of critical Social Services User Interface applications of our State client in Austin TX.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building sophisticated enterprise-class J2EE/Portal applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) using Agile methodologies. This role is responsible for the complete front-end stack of vital public-facing systems including the State Portal Workflow Management and Enterprise Document Services ensuring they are responsive accessible and performant.
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Austin Texas (Hybrid - Mon & Tues Onsite.)
Please Note: Program will only allow candidates who are from within 50-miles from Austin Texas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform front end/UI application development enhancement maintenance and support for Social Services User Interface applications.
- Develop enhance and support applications for the State Portal Workflow Management Eligibility Web Services Enterprise Document Services Enterprise Content Management and other social services systems.
- Develop and maintain new and existing web-based J2EE/Portal applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform using Agile methodologies.
- Participate as a key team member in requirements analysis high-level and detailed design development testing and deployment of new application components.
- Provide comprehensive application support including defect repair maintenance and production operations for web-based Java applications.
- Perform system analysis troubleshooting diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Analyze software for configuration defects and performance tuning opportunities.
- Participate in program design coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input on technical standards and customer requirements.
- Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error and provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
- Create and maintain technical design documentation data models and process models.
- Work collaboratively with other teams as necessary to accomplish goals.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated hands-on experience is required in each of the following areas:
- Front End/UI development enhancement and maintenance of enterprise-class applications using Angular and/or similar frameworks on a J2EE platform.
- Full participation across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Implementing UI-level Authentication Authorization and Caching strategies.
- Expert-level programming in HTML5 JavaScript (ES5/ES6) TypeScript CSS3 SASS JQuery AJAX JSON and XML.
- Utilizing front-end build tools and libraries such as Bootstrap NPM and Maven.
- Developing optimizing and maintaining enterprise-level responsive client-facing applications.
- Building Single Page Applications (SPAs) with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular.
- Developing self-contained reusable and testable modules and components.
- Applying fundamental programming concepts of data structures algorithms performance caching and scalability in the context of web UI applications.
- Developing and testing for ADA/Accessibility Compliance.
- Implementing best practices in application design performance scalability and maintainability.
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) using frameworks such as Karma Jasmine or Selenium.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot Java applications.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (v8 or later).
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with web applications developed for a Cloud platform (e.g. AWS Azure GCP).
- 5 years of hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology and pipelines.
- 5 years of hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms.
