Grant Specialist

Job Summary:
Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Grant Specialist (Research Services Intermediate Professional). This is a joint position through the schools Center for Global Health (CGH) and Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center (RMPRC) that will support pre- and post-award grant management finance and procurement data management projects event coordination and general administrative needs for faculty staff and students within CGH (estimated 80% effort) along with pre- and post-award grant support for RMPRC (estimated 20% effort).
Key Responsibilities:
Support Principal Investigators in preparing required documents for pre-award.
Create and assist with the management of Microsoft Excel financial reports for Principal Investigator once a grant is awarded.
Run review track and monitor expenses to determine if costs are allowable allocable and within the scope of the project budget under the University Federal and Non-Federal policies.
Serve as liaison between Contracts Office (OGC and CoSPH Office of Research) sub-recipient institutions sponsor and Principal Investigator to negotiate new subcontracts or amendments.
Facilitate initial submissions amendments and continuing reviews for all center research projects through the COMIRB (IRB) including Childrens Hospital Colorado protocols.
Coordinate and oversee logistics for grant-related meetings including annual scientific meetings investigator meetings and advisory board sessions.
Assist with the development of databases or data management tools tailored for community programs and grant-funded projects.
Primary personnel for purchasing supplies/equipment for grants overseas clinical and research needs.
Process Standing Purchase Orders (SPOs) for subcontracts and fee-for-service contracts through CU Marketplace and submit corresponding invoices for payment.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Assistant Director of the Center for Global Health with additional support from the Director of the Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center.

Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in public health public administration social/behavioral sciences physical sciences nursing healthcare finance accounting business administration business or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
1 year of professional level experience
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the University of Colorado system or other higher education environment.
Experience with University Expense and Procurement System Software and Applications and Grant Management Systems (m-Fin Concur CU Marketplace eRA Commons InfoEd etc.).
Experience with contracts (i.e. subcontracts/subawards) and sub-recipient invoice monitoring.
Experience with health data management.
Understanding of contract and administrative laws including compliance regulations.
Intermediate to advanced levels of speaking reading and writing in Spanish.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated experience in fostering a community that values a wide range of backgrounds experiences and perspectives.

Anticipated Salary Range:
The starting target salary for this position has been established as $52312-$66541
The above salary represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
