Job Description

As a key leader for the Enterprise Facilities Team the Facilities Engineering Manager is tasked with developing and guiding the management and maintenance program for building infrastructure at JM Familys portfolio of 50 owned and leased properties.

This role coordinates with corporate facilities management peers and leadership to identify business needs life cycle planning and cost savings opportunities for building infrastructure with a deep focus on MEP/HVAC building controls and fire life safety systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing the designs and specifications for building infrastructure installations and providing input and direction to construction projects with regard to MEP design from the owner/operator lens.
  • Developing and leading the Enterprise Facilities team in a best practices approach to building life cycle planning and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Successfully building relationships across the enterprise facilities team and with key third-party service providers.
  • Providing direct and indirect customer support to ensure comfortable and stable indoor air temperature/quality.
  • Driving efficiency and sustainability goals for the Enterprise Facilities team.
  • Managing vendor contracts for HVAC and building controls services.
  • Supporting and participating in business continuity planning and incident response (24/7 on-call)
  • Managing projects for key infrastructure upgrade and renovation projects
  • Developing specifications and scope for third-party support and maintenance agreements

Qualifications:

  • Robust history of leadership and managing successful maintenance and/or project teams.
  • Successful experience in Project Management and corporate facilities management
  • Execution and planning of capital and operating budgets
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed in support of facilities projects from time to time (evenings/weekends/holidays)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with IWMS or CMMS platform (FM Systems preferred)
  • Knowledge of building controls systems (BAS/BMS) and able to develop a sequence of operations to support business requirements
  • Experience with Andover/Schneider controls platform is preferred
  • Bachelors degree required; Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Must have experience in strategic planning construction and facilities engineering
  • Customer service mindset with solid interpersonal skills
  • Business acumen demonstrated through identification of cost savings/avoidance and process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Able to travel (up to 20%) to all corporate locations in the southeast US (Alpharetta GA; Commerce GA; Jacksonville FL; Mobile AL; St. Louis MO)

Desired skills:

  • Industry certification- Professional Engineer or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or LEED (GA or AP).
  • Experience in sustainable construction LEED and facility operations with cost containment and avoidance.
