What does a successful DevOps Engineer do

A successful DevOps Engineer in our BFSI (Banking Financial Services and Insurance) Fintech IT organization is responsible for overseeing multiple technical projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality scalable and secure. They play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy fostering a collaborative team environment and driving innovation. Key responsibilities include:

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure consistently.

- CI/CD Pipelines: Build automated pipelines using AWS CodePipeline CodeBuild and CodeDeploy for seamless integration and delivery.

- Monitoring & Logging: Implement observability with AWS CloudWatch X-Ray and CloudTrail to track performance and security events.

- Security & Compliance: Manage IAM roles enforce encryption and integrate AWS Config and Security Hub for governance.

- Containerization: Deploy and manage containers using Amazon ECS EKS or Fargate.

- Serverless Architecture: Leverage AWS Lambda API Gateway and DynamoDB for lightweight scalable solutions.

- Cost Optimization: Use AWS Trusted Advisor and Cost Explorer to monitor usage and reduce unnecessary spend.

What you will need to have:

• Education: Bachelors degree in a related field.
• Mandatory AWS Solution Architect Professional Certification
• Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in DevOps Engineer role with significant experience in the BFSI or fintech sector and a proven track record in managing teams and leading technical projects.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python Bash)
• Experience with containerization (Docker Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Strong understanding of AWS services and architecture
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git Jenkins CodeDeploy)
