JOB SUMMARY

The Community Center Supervisor plays a vital role in shaping out-of-school programs to support the goals of the administration teachers and students. This dynamic role serves as a bridge between the school and the community offering impactful after-school programs for adult education and community learning opportunities. The Supervisor also provides valuable information and referrals for services available to eligible students and families while effectively communicating details about school and district activities and procedures to enhance community relations.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:

  1. High School Diploma GED or equivalent
  2. Three (3) years of job-related experience in a public school or with students/families or acombination of post-high school education and experience
  1. Speak read write present professionally analyze and interpret English written and verbal communications
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.) including the ability to use spreadsheets and other software applications to collect data and maintain accurate records
  3. Ability to operate standard office equipment phone copier and scanner machines etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

These are examples of skills and experience that the best-qualified candidates may have. Not having one or all of them does not disqualify any candidate from consideration.

  1. Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Education Marketing Business Communication etc.)
  2. Bilingual preferably in English and Spanish (ability to speak read write and comprehend at an intermediate/advanced level) another language may be required depending on the needs of the school

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the capacity and sustainability of out-of-school and community educational programs; assess community needs secure funding and resources build partnerships with local organizations and foster stakeholder engagement
  2. Oversee and develop contracts with outside service providers to offer a range of out-of-school learning opportunities to meet community needs
  3. Regularly evaluate program effectiveness incorporating feedback for continuous improvement and promoting outreach efforts to increase participation and awareness within the community
  4. Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. administrators auditors public agencies teachers parents students community members etc.) to implement and maintain a regular schedule of services and programs
  5. Compile data from a wide variety of sources for use in reporting (e.g. state reports outside agency reports grants etc.) to analyze issues ensure compliance monitor programs and determine eligibility and access to programs and services to students families and the community
  6. Coordinates staff and volunteer efforts to maintain the appropriate level of coverage for out-of-school programs and activities including scheduling events courses and personnel/contracted service providers
  7. Communicate effectively with diverse individuals groups of people organizations and other stakeholders facilitate meaningful engagement while maintaining confidentiality and positive working relationships with students parents colleagues and the community
  8. Respond to a wide variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g. staff administrators public agencies etc.) to provide information facilitate communication among parties and provide direction
  9. Evaluate situations (e.g. involving staff the public etc.) and take appropriate actionn and direct to appropriate personnel for resolution
  10. Manages financial activities (e.g. budget fees funding grants donations) to support an effective fee-based program structure
  11. Prepare standard documentation (e.g. correspondence reports etc.) to document activities provide written references and convey information
  12. Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential manual and electronic records (e.g. participant information follow-up contacts evaluations reviews program goals etc.) to document and compile activities in compliance with program guidelines
  13. Create secure organize and maintain a variety of documents and records of activity (paper and electronic) to document relevant information including requests for funding student and family interactions and outcomes data needed for reports grants compliance and for general reference
  14. Participate in meetings workshops and seminars as assigned listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally or in writing; present and gather information to perform job functions
  15. Use high-level organizational skills and initiative to accomplish long-term and short-term objectives while working under limited supervision utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies accurately processing detailed information and meeting deadlines
  16. Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to effectively perform the duties of the position
  17. Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions as required
  18. Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
  19. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The usual and customary methods of performing the job functions require the following physical demands: some lifting (up to 30 pounds) carrying bending pushing pulling stooping kneeling crouching and crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting 20% walking and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
