Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Sample preparation and analysis following published test methods and company/client SOPs.
Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:
- Organize test samples including seat belts and child restraint systems
- Prepare test specimens from the samples submitted using hand tools and power tools
- Perform both destructive and non-destructive physical testing on products including webbing hardware buckles and retractors
- Record test results in the format specified which includes handwritten datasheets computer printouts and electronic data entry
- Routine operation maintenance and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments
- Assist in the investigation of response to and follow-up of client inquiries and complaints
- May assist in limited internal and external technical support to marketing sales customer services and clients regarding test report and other technical information
- Coordinate with other laboratory technicians and/or assistants on sample receiving logging pretreatment preparation testing and other tasks
- Conduct multiple projects within tight deadlines
- Other projects and tasks assigned by company and supervisors
Qualifications :
Education:
- Prior laboratory experience or 2 years towards engineering or science degree
Skills/Competencies:
Must be able to meet the following performance requirements:
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift and move sample boxes up to 25 lbs
- Familiarity with Laboratory Quality and Operations systems
- Windows-based computer programs including MS Word and Excel
- Effective understanding written and verbal skills
- May work with limited guidance independently or as part of a team.
- Takes initiative to learn and grow. Able to learn and apply new technologies and instruments
- Forklift certification desirable
Pay Range is $21.00-$26.00/ hour
