FPS is seeking Permanent Substitutes. The roles of the Building-Based Substitute Teacher are to maintain classroom structures and to carry on the classroom procedures as if they were the regular teacher. Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students. The Building-Based Substitute Teacher will maintain the same responsibilities and the same duties as the regular teacher including bus duty and playground supervision the absence of the teacher provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth while following any lesson plans and/or instructions left by the classroom teacher. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Responsibilities:Assigned to rotate into various teaching positions in the school on a daily basis and possibly throughout the day; working as part of the school communityImplement teacher lesson plans and administrator directives with fidelity and with classroom teachers and if necessary principal regarding expectations for student work behavior and lesson the physical and emotional safety of all the teachers absence does not cause an interruption in classroom familiarity with district curriculum and and contribute to staff meetings and professional development supervisory duties as assigned (such as lunch bus or recess duty).Assist in the development of curricular materials as by state statutes school committee policies and regulationsAttend meetings and perform duties as assigned by the principal or their all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative all suspicions of abuse and/or neglect to DCF and the confidentiality regarding students and staff personnel informationBe a positive role model for students; support the mission of the to be flexible with job assignments as current on instructional practices in education (e.g. instructional technology)Assumes responsibility for other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
