The Position:
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist for our Finance department. This position reports directly to the Controller and is primarily responsible for processing payroll.
What Youll Do:
- Process bi-weekly payroll in UKG including time record extraction funding emails and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records including tax benefits and garnishments.
- Collaborate with HR to process new hires terminations salary changes and audits.
- Prepare manual checks termination pay and support payroll bank reconciliation.
- Submit monthly quarterly and year-end reports (e.g. MVR census UltiPro BLS).
- Manage retirement contributions 401(k) reporting and related systems.
- Analyze payroll and benefit clearing accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular audits of timekeeping and payroll data for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Ensure proper funding and file submission to Fidelity and NBS.
- Save and organize payroll and benefits reports for internal tracking and compliance audits.
- Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8:00am 5:00pm
- This position is fully onsite.
- Starting Salary: $50000 - $69000 commensurate on experience
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience with payroll systems. UKG preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and work independently
- High level of accuracy judgment and commitment to quality improvement
- Professional respectful interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting Administration or a related field highly preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
